Stakeholder Consultation
How carbon emissions contribute to climate change is an issue Albertans and all Canadians have a stake in. As the Alberta Saline Aquifer Project lays the technical and economic groundwork, representatives from participating companies hope to initiate and inform public discussion through a series of upcoming presentations at related conferences in Alberta and across the country.
Making carbon capture and storage a reality means active participation of the full range of stakeholders, including landowners, Aboriginal communities, municipalities, environmental organizations and the general public. As technologies are developed and refined, potential locations and economics are assessed, creating opportunities for public involvement will be an important part of the design and planning process.
